J.K. Dobbins will start vs. Oklahoma, Mike Weber healthy: Ohio State football news

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Last year's starting running back, Mike Weber, is healthy. But he won't start on Saturday when No. 2 Ohio State hosts No. 5 Oklahoma.

Freshman J.K. Dobbins, who started the season opener against Indiana while Weber sat with a hamstring injury, will start again against the Sooners this week. Meyer made that announcement during his radio show on Thursday on 97.1 The Fan in Columbus.

Dobbins rushed 29 times for 181 yards against the Hoosiers, setting a new Ohio State record for rushing yards by a freshman in his first game.

Weber, who dealt with a hamstring injury all training camp, was a game-time decision against Indiana and ended up not playing. Dobbins starred in his place.

Now they're both ready to go.

"(Mike) practiced yesterday. He's good to go," Meyer said. "We'll play him. To say he's gonna have so many carries, we have no idea. J.K. will start and we'll see as we move forward."

Meyer said later in his radio show that both Dobbins and Weber will play.

"You'll see them both," he said. I'm really excited about it."
